The Argyll Highland Dance Club has recently expanded and now will be operating under the new name of the Argyll School of Celtic Arts. Due to the recent change, Classes will no longer be held at Accentz Dance Studio, but instead, Hackman has created a new studio located at #6 100 in the Alpine Center. “I feel that it is an achievement for all marginalized artists, performers, and instructors who spend a lifetime subletting, teaching out of basements, Church Halls, and community centers.”

The Argyll School of Celtic Arts will be offering classes in Highland Dance, Celtic Step, Tenor, Base, and Snare Drumming as well as Bagpipes. There will be classes available for all ages and ability. “The opening of the School in no way is meant to take students away from local pipe bands,” says Hackman, “On the contrary, we are here to supplement the instruction and hopefully in turn, bring more students to their bands. Our goal is to bring Celtic Arts to the mainstream.” We have an amazing teaching staff who are all dedicated to producing the highest quality of students possible. They are also dedicated to the idea of lifetime growth - always growing and improving as instructors and artists. All piping and Drumming instructors are currently playing or practising in the SFU organization. “Our mission statement is, - Train as Athletes, Perform as Artists, Strive for Excellence.

The Argyll School of Celtic Arts also has a unique affiliation to the Canadian School of Ballet in Kelowna. Recently, Hackman acquired a Highland Dance school in Kelowna and has received the blessing from Owners Lori Larsen and Melville Brown to bring them to the Canadian School of Ballet. “I received my training at CBS and I thought there would be no better of a place for the Kelowna students to receive their training. To be part of a dance school with 70 years of legacy is an honourable experience.”
