From the far away island of Newfoundland!

Andrew was born and raised on the tropical island of Newfoundland, where at a very young age he began singing and playing traditional Celtic, Irish and Newfoundland music. Andrew formed his first Celtic band at the age of 17 with a bunch of high school friends, and in 2003 that band, called Ocean Skye, released an album entitled “Days Gone By,” named after track one from the album co-written with fellow band member Steven Rowe. Andrew wrote four of the other tracks on the album including the song “I Remember” which was chosen as one of the winners of The Edge Magazine’s National Song Writing Competition in 2002. Ocean Skye was nominated for two - 2003 Music Industry Association of Newfoundland and Labrador Awards for Best Folk/Roots Group and Best New Group. Andrew decided to make the nearly 7500 kilometre trek across the country to beautiful British Columbia on Canada Day, 2009. Andrew began his quest to look for musicians almost immediately upon arrival in BC and well the rest is history.

Chad “Rhino” Carter (Drums, Percussion and Vocals)

Stylish Groove Summarizes this crazy guy!

Rhino’s website: www.rhinodesigns.ca

Rhino knew he was a drummer at the age of five when he sweet talked his Mamma into buying him an “Animal Muppets Drum kit”. Further advancement took place in Saudi Arabia under the guidance of a talented music teacher. Rhino was playing drums for productions by the age of twelve. Styles that have been an influence include Stewart Copeland, Ringo Starr, Phil Collins and Jon Bonham. Like Animal (Keith Moon), Rhino brings intense energy and style to his performances providing rocket fuel to any musical spark. Exploration of many musical styles such as heavy alternative rock, jazz fusion, Reggae, and Funk have evolved this Rhino into a drummer with all the chops necessary to fill any groove!

Rhino began first playing Celtic music in 2000 while working with a Leona Burkey, a singer/songwriter from Nova Scotia. The band Leona and Clan McFunk recorded the 'Skyboat Songs' album and performed up to 2003.

The intent at that time was to approach Celtic drumming with a more modern funky rhythm. This vision has further developed with Rhino currently slapping the skins with Vernon Celtic band Cod Gone Wild. This time around Rhino has teamed up with Andrew Mercer, a Celtic musician from Newfoundland. With additional players from the Okanagan area Cod Gone Wild has been recording and performing for over one year and looks to keep developing their band.

Remember it's the drummers that get people moving!
